Heights Maya platform Premium Enhancement The Maya Photopolymer has been in existence since 2007. It was designed to meet the growing demand for low-to-medium volume customers purchasing CtP units such as ECRM, Esher-Grad, Screen, FFEI etc. The unit was manufactured in 2 sizes: 620mm wide and 850mm wide, with both offering the customer a recommended throughput of 250 sq metres per week (which is between 12,000-13,000 sq metres per annum). From the development of the Violet unit, Heights were asked to introduce a CtCP and Thermal Unit in 850mm wide using components common to the Violet. Of course, this was a great advantage to distributors, with spare parts levels, plus engineers experience and knowledge being the same on both types. For 2010, Heights have decided to enhance the Violet, CtCP and Thermal Maya's with a mechanical upgrade to the chain drive, bearings and pumps. This premium upgrade will be fitted with NO price increase to the unit, and will subsequently increase the recommended throughput to circa 350 sq metres per week (18,200 sq metres per annum). These changes will be applied from July 2010. All new Maya's and Blue Ambers (MD type) from IPEX onwards will be fitted with the Premium Enhancement.
